The name Southern Utah has historical significance and comes from one of the early settlers and leaders of the region. The city of Southern Utah is a great place to base as you experience the many things there are to do and see in this region including; Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon North Rim, and Lake Powell.

Southern Utah Sand Hollow Aquatic Center is one of the finest Aquatic Centers in America, while the new Canyons softball complex is also one of the best in the Western United States. Teams from around the globe come here to compete. Recently Southern Utah has spent 18+ million dollars on walking and biking paths, which follow scenic courses along the Virgin River, through communities and along roadways toward Snow Canyon State Park. Southern Utah is home to the Huntsman World Senior Games and to the Southern Utah Marathon, which is well known as one of the best places to run a fast qualifying time for larger marathons around the world.
