Tropic
is located in the valley below Bryce Canyon.
From
the front porch of your room you can see the beautiful
pink cliffs of Bryce Canyon to the west, and to the
east you can see the Escalante Mountain, the highest
timbered plateau in North America. The highest peak of the Escalante Mountain is Powell Point, which from atop you can look into four states; it is truly
an awing expenence. |
From
Tropic, it is just three short miles to the bottom hiking
trail into Bryce Canyon, but be prepared it is several
miles, all uphill. If a car is your preferred mode of
transportation, it is an eleven mile drive to the park
entrance. Along the way through Water Canyon, stop off at
Mossy Caves. Mossy Caves is just a short hike off
of Highway 12, but well worth it.
While visiting with us don't forget to see the rest
of the beautiful country around you. Garfield County
is also home to Kodacrhome, Calf Creek, Petrified Forest,
and the Anasazi Indian Village State Parks.

These
are just a few of the areas many attractions
that will make it hard to leave Tropic.
